WOMEN'S wear
Young women's clothing was influenced by the rock 'n' roll craze. Some clothing such as full skirts became popular for dancing, and were in bright colours. Skirts and pants were also pinched at the waist to emphasise the waist and bust. As for blouses, women wore tight fitting blouses tucked into slim-line calf-length trousers called 'Capri' pants or 'pedal pushers'. Short ankle socks, cropped cardigans and scarves tied around the neck were also popular.
